Warmth from Muubaa

Sorry I’ve been AWAL for a while, just been reaaally busy with uni, work, and life in general. I’m not complaining though, a busy bee is a happy bee, as long as the bee is doing things the bee loves. For the record, I have no idea whatsoever why I’m talking about bees right now, it’s still too early in the morning for me at 2PM I guess, heh. Anyways, I went to London Fashion Weekend last week and snatched this amazing coat from one of my favourite brands, Muubaa. They do a lot of cool stuff with leather and fur, and were my main reason to attend the event to begin with.

The coat is 100% sheepskin, so it’s incredibly warm and soooo soft. The sheepskin is dyed, and I love how the colour of the skin changes hue in different lights – going from dark to light grey, blue, and even purple. Such a classic piece, I’m so excited and can’t wait to wear it!

I think the RRP for this one was around 2000 pounds but I snatched mine at a handsome LWF discount. I’d originally picked out a totally different leather/fur trim jacket but due a small hiccup, that one slipped my grasp. In the end though, I think this coat is actually a lot better choice than the one I had in mind. Sadly, the weather in London has been getting so warm (well not sad really, SPRING!) these past days I think I’ll have to pack up this beauty for next winter. At least I’ll have something extra special waiting for me took keep me warm!

Shoe Fever

I’ve been struck with a serious case of shoe fever lately. I’ve always been more of purse-kinda-gal, daydreaming of Chanel 2.55s and Fendi Peekaboos, but recently my inner Carrie Bradshaw has been showing a lot more. Of course I’ve always admired beautifully designed shoes, and especially the women who can manage to actually move their feet in these crazy ass creations, but I’ve just not personally ever drooled over a pair of Louboutins. The thing is, I look unbelievably awkward when I try to walk in heels, or at least that’s how I feel. I never wore heels when I was growing up because I’m so tall (don’t get me wrong, I absolutely lovelovelove being tall!) so I’m just simply used to wearing flats or a 1 inch heel boot, at maximum. The boldest move I make in the heel front is to wear a pair of comfy wedge heels.

Anyhoo, times are a-changing as Bob Dylan once said, and I surprised myself a few weeks back when I bumped into this gorgeous pair of black suede heels at Zara while out shopping with a friend (who happens to be fabulously tall herself, over 180 centimeters at least, and she always wears heels...) and actually bought the pair! Ever since I’ve been prancing around my bedroom in heels, dreaming of the dry and sunny spring days to come.

After receiving these beauties, I’ve found myself increasingly starstruck by beautiful shoes I see on other women; on the street, at parties, and mostly on the internet. I absolutely adore Blair Eadie from Atlantic-Pacific, and I’ve seen her and bunch of other bloggers wear this amazing pair of Bow Pumps by Aminah Abdul Jillil. They are simply gorgeous, no other word for them! The colourful ones are beautiful obviously, but personally I adore the black ones – they remind me of something that a 21st century Holly Golightly would wear while having breakfast at Tiffany’s. They’ve definitely skyrocketed straight to my top 10 wish list for 2014!

Bloglovin and Blogilista Links, Finally

As I've mentioned earlier, technology (even tech-for-dummies) is not my closest friend so it took me a while to get these buttons up and running. Anyways, it's done now, ta-daaa! You can now follow my blog with Bloglovin or with Blogilista.

Finally got my technical issues sorted. I honestly don't understand what it is with me and technology, we just don't see eye to eye most of the time. Big ups to people who actually enjoy solving tech issues, the world would be in ruin without you.

Throwback Tuesday

I’m experiencing slight technical difficulties with getting photos out of my camera and on to my computer...I've however decided not to let these minor setbacks bother me so in the meantime, let’s celebrate throwback Thursdays on a Tuesday! These pictures are from last September when we attended Björn Borg’s SS 14 party in East London with Siiri and a few other bloggers. I realise I look completely bored in these but actually had a very pleasant evening with some lovely people, and enjoyed myself a lot. I guess I’m gradually but surely turning into an authentic Londoner, as Seann Walsh’s (also known as my future husband's) number 1 tip to surviving London is NO SMILING.

New Beginnings

Hi everyone and welcome to my very first blog post – well, not literally my first, as up until last May I co-wrote Fat, Single and Ready to Mingle –blog with my friend Siiri. We kept the blog running for almost 2 years but last May we felt our time together with the blog had simply come to an end; nothing lasts forever (except maybe diamonds). Anyhoo, I more than enjoyed disappearing almost completely from the blogosphere for 7 months as last spring I just couldn’t handle all the negativity, jealousy and greed that was circling around the whole blogging community anymore. It seemed like both bloggers and readers alike lose their humanity behind the anonymity of the virtual world.

Be that as it may, I know there are so many positive and amazing people engaged in this “industry” as well, and I’ve really started to miss blogging which became a weekly hobby during the last 2 years, so I decided it was time for a new blog, this time all on my own. Getting regular friendly pushes from Katri and other friends to get started with my own blog finally paid off and here we are. I’m not yet completely settled on whether I’m going to write mainly in English or Finnish, I’ll do a bit of both I guess. Anyway, time will tell how everything will go down the line and for how long I’ll keep this blog alive – for my own amusement as much as yours. So, don’t be strangers and let me know what you think!
